Help w/Frt STRUT bar installation

Mkay, I understand how to install the actual strut bar & brackets but I am just
not getting the cruise control assembly.
Anyone have a nice close-up of how theirs looks? I already searched the how-tos on both forums & didn't find one.

how about this? http://flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=1460520910&size=o

I have a gigantic version of the pic available (that's a 2 megapixel rendering, it's an 8 megapixel photo)

kargoboy September-30th-2007 07:06 PM

Thanks! That's the way I had the parts lined up. The only thing I can't really figure out is how to install the 'extra' bracket piece.
You pic helps, I will take a closer look.

KrayzieFox September-30th-2007 07:14 PM

I can take a really close pic too Gary. Gimme a sec ok?

Alright here we go. Sorry if they're too dark but it's starting to rain here and I think we might get a tornado here shortly cuz it got REALLY dark all of a sudden. Anyway, I hope these help.

J-Protege September-30th-2007 08:12 PM

Cool, these will help when I get my bar in as well!

i have the actual mazda accessory installation instructions, but this forum limits me from posting the whole thing. (file size, or something) send me a pm with your email, and i'll send it over.

^ What kind of file is it? PDF, JPEG, etc.? I might be able to shrink it .. cuz that would be pretty useful info to have on here.

kargoboy October-1st-2007 09:01 AM

Thanks for the pics KFox...too bad the P5 already had the strut bar stock. I have to modify the cruise with a bracket, so it looks a little different.

Nik you have a PM

Ok I figured it out. Y is the average of u and t, so a Stry bar is the same as a strut bar.

Alright, back as you were :p

Some of us need to postwhore so quickly that we can't bother typing two letters when one would suffice. :cookoo:

I'll admit, I wasn't 100% sure what the thread was about when it started :P

KrayzieFox October-1st-2007 10:34 AM

I thought it was the Front SWAY bar when I first glanced at it .. so I immediately thought "Oh shit .. good luck Gary"

OMG, I can't believe that I didn't notice that, and worse, I always try & remember to
proof-read my posts.

Don't tell anyone I have a degree in English.

Finally had time to install it, thanks everyone for the help.
Just a quick question though. Are the P5 and MSP strut bars different? The bracket instructions for the cruise control were very different from what Nik posted.
I figured it out NP. It was close enough to give me a good idea on how to do it.

aMaff October-8th-2007 09:19 AM

I don't know, but the only thing that could be different is the bracket on the passenger side, as the MSP doesn't have cruise.

KrayzieFox October-8th-2007 09:57 AM

The bar itself is the same between P5/MP3/MSP .. they're just different colors (red/yellow/silver) but the brackets may differ due to lack of cruise.

kargoboy October-8th-2007 12:40 PM

Weird.
I bought mine used from Hughes412 on msprotege...it's black, but I think he may have painted it. In any case, everything lined up right, including the cruise bracket relocation except for one bolt. It's off by at least half an inch. And the picture of the bracket Nik posted is different from what I had.

njaremka October-8th-2007 12:45 PM

which bolt? which bracket?
