H&R Vs Eibach
 

I need help deciding between the two, I am looking for something that would improve my handling but not negatively affect my ride quality. Any suggests guyz??
p.s. would I need to replace my struts on my es too?? :eek:

You might as well forget about the ride quality. Any lowering spring will harshen up the road feel, and you will feel every nook and cranny there is on the road. I have H&R on my 1997, but I also have 205/55 tires @35 psi, so the tires add to the harshness a bit.

I disagree with saying lowering your car ruins your ride- the pro kit by eibach matched with a good set of wheels/tires should handle pretty nicely, and the h&r springs from experience on a wrx and an integra was pretty good as well, just a bit stiffer than stock

By the way, how is that ractive exhaust? There are a few options I am looking at, the jic magic bullet has the highest claims (10-12hp), but for $750+ a little spendy

It was only a axle-back from a P5 that I managed to fit onto my car, there was no hp gain at all, just too much f*cking noise, and that is why I had it taken off. I forgot to change my signature since. In order to see any gains, you need cat-back.

I did not mean to say that the car does not handle good. The car handles better then ever, and exactly like I wanted it to handle. I am just saying that after I lowered the car, I had installed H&R with brand new struts, and wheels and tires. Handling is awesome, no questions asked, though road harshness was way up there.

I actually had the same problem with noise on my old integra with a Thermal exhaust- the baffling started to go out and damn was it noisy- BTW I definitely agree with you on the harshness, but the responsiveness is so worth it

I was in the same boat as a lot of people, in that I did want the improved handling (even though the stock handling of the P5 is nothing to sneeze at), but I didn't want to sacrifice ride quality. Luckily, the dealership where I got my car had a new P5 with the eibachs installed so I was able to take it for a spin and compare apples to apples (same wheels, etc). I found that there really wasn't all that much ride degradation; in fact it was hardly noticeable, unless it was a really rough road. Plus, the drop wasn't excessive, so I wouldn't have to worry about using my P5 as a snow plow come winter. :p

I haven't dropped my P5 yet (though I'm planning to next summer), but I am likely going to go with the Eibachs, mainly because the dealership where I got my car sells and installs them, so I don't have to worry about any warranty issues. Plus, they are our local group's main sponsor, so we get a discount on the parts and the labour. :D
