H&R Spring - Pics + Installation question
Hello Guys.
I've just received my H&R Springs. They are used but in great condition. As you can see on the second pic, there's 2 yellow thing. Can you tell me what it is. I've been told that this is a part on own car that I have to cut in half in order to make it fit. Is it right? I have a protege5, if you need to know. thx http://pages.infinit.net/p5type/hr2.jpg http://pages.infinit.net/p5type/hr1.jpg |
I dont know what those two yellow rings are but you should not have to cut anything to install those springs.

Well... i thing i've found the answer...
Take a look at this topic.... you'll understand. http://www.protegeclub.com/forum/sho...&threadid=8936 thx |
Heh holy shit, no don't cut those. Those are your bump stops, and the H&R sport springs will not drop your car enough where it will ride on the bumpstops. I'm not sure why you got them with your springs, your car already has them on there, someone sent you their bumpstops for some odd reason.

Those definitely are bump stops. Your stock shocks already have them. When I lowered my P5 on Eibachs, I didn't cut mine either. I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe I'll do so when I swap out my stock shocks.

those are bumpstops, i just got my h & r's installed today by sean at rishies shop (auto r & d), sean cut mine a little bit and the springs are great i love the look and the ride!!!!...those bumpstops were probably the ones that got cut off from the originals since you said they were used..

Exactly....
I've been told by several people that as soon as you drop your P5 for more than an inch, to cut in half the front & Rear bump stop.... I'm getting a little bit confused... I hope that I'll be able to fix my mind before I'll put them on.... tomorow. |
