Drilled/Slotted Rotors suck?
 

Had a convo with a brake guy today, I mentioned upgrading to a big brake kit with drilled or slotted rotors... he said that was a big mistake, he said he has had various 10 second cars in his life and he only uses slotted rotors for the track and then switches to regular premuium rotors when he needs to go around town... he said his slotted rotors would get warped too quickly and need resurfacing every few weeks... i guess i believe him but do you think it's the same situation with our 4 cyls? I was always led to believe the bigger, the better, and slots or drilled is always a good thing because it helps cool off the brakes and rotors faster...

there's nothing wrong with slotted rotors. don't get drilled rotors because the holes take away to much surface area and they will tend to chip around the holes after you've had them for awhile. but i wouldn't spend the money on a big brake kit, you'll never really need it unless you're racing on a track. but slotted rotors will make a differance when you're stopping a lot and riding the brakes hard. and they look really cool to, just make sure you get them put on the right sides, i've seen many sets on backwards or they're the same rotor on both sides. and i never heard of anyone taking the hassel of driving a 10 sec car around town, especaily if he changes the rotors everytime he does. hope the info helps
