Which brake pad are the better for street use PBR Ultimate or Hawk HPS
Hello,
I would like Know Which brake pads are the better for the street use. I never do track racing. I drive my car in winter and here in Canada in January the Weather it is very cold -25 celicus(arround minus 13 farenhight) I need brake pads work very greet in cold or hot condition. Please guive me your opinion about the PBR Ultimate and Hawk HPS Thank Seb |
Dunno about either but I went with the Posi-Quiets and have been pretty happy. Excellent grip, virtually no brake dust, and no noise at all. I think they're good pads for street use, only $40.00 for fronts and $35.00 for rear.

just get a good ceramic pad at the auto parts store...excellent brake life and minimal dusting...if you dont race the hawks are a waste IMO

Just kidding, it's just that the sentence is worded kinda funny. |
:shift: i dunno' - i only have experience with the Hawk pads (rear). I noticed more bite and less dust. I plan to get them again.
I don't race - but i am a 'spirited' driver...:shift: |
Out of those two, I'd pick Hawks because the PBRs really suck, IMO. Tons of dust, and they don't really bite that well, plus I toasted a set in about 10,000 miles.
I have Porterfields on my car now and couldn't be happier. They're lasting longer than OEM ones and they really felt nice at the track. NO fading and the dust wasn't too bad either...not even close to what the PBRs spew out everytime you step on the brake. |
Do yourself a favor and get a set of Carbotech 1521s. You only need them for the front. They are quiet, produce minimal dust and you'll be amazed at the stopping power. They're also very rotor friendly. Make sure you bed them in according to the instructions. Call Danny or Matt at 877-899-5024. Tell them Rich Ashley sent you.
