dunno about for the LX, but the MSP clunk fix works great! i can vouch for that ;)

njaremka July-22nd-2007 06:40 PM

chances are, your clunk is only the sway bar end links - mine started clunking around 50k miles.

do i have a rear sway bar in the lx? I havent realy looked i just asumed ther wasnt a rear. I have 117k it probubly started 20k ago. i havent had to do any real maintnace to front or back suspention. who offers the links at resonable price? moog has nothing butt tie rod ends.

The LX came with a 16mm rear sway bar. The end links are $26 each at onlinemazdaparts.com.

You can only upgrade to more noise. OEM is fine.

Hardrace has reinforced endlinks available (same design as stock.. dunno how much stronger or how much longer they may ask) for $55CAD PST/GST included for all four

I have just under 8k, got my 3 back in April, and the clunk started last week. :( Is it even worth going back to the dealer and saying fix this (got the 100k warranty) or is the replacement going to suck as well?

_Kansei_ August-24th-2007 11:19 AM

If you have a clunk on a Mazda3 that's something totally different. The 3 has a way more simple rear suspension layout and I haven't heard of anyone with clunk on a 3. Take it in and see what they say about it

P.S. welcome to the site!

Thanks!

That would probably be why I can't really find anything. I'm no stranger to this kinda stuff, I used to have a Jetta and they had quite a few known issues, windows dropping into the door is a fun one.

Although the dealership already knows my name and well because I wanted my Sirius and my aux jack to work and there's a part thats like $500 including installation. Should be good times.

Thanks for the help.

A lot of the new MS3s are having clunk issues due to loose swaybar mounting--it's a quick dealer fix. First model year issues. Maybe an issue with regular 3s also...?

J-Protege August-24th-2007 04:36 PM

Those HardRace ones Chris mentioned are looking good. I'm just waiting for them to have an MSP set ready for the RB bar. Can't beat that price.

Hey All, OEM Sway bar ends are 14mm, they are way to small with the handling of this car. Mine were shot after 30k. I installed Moog 22mm sway bar ends with greeae fittings. Wish I knew before I replaced all rotors and brake pads, springs and struts. Live and learn. All fixed now, my car is uber flat though turns at speed now.
