17" without lowering?

hey there guys im about to replace my pair of stock 16x6" on my astina SP20 (called that here in aus) and i was wondering does anyone have a pic of a p5 with 17's without lowering? does it look plain stupid or does it look fine...?

It depends what height of side wall you get for the rubber.

A 45 tire is a higher sidewall than a 40 and looks better if the car isn't lowered. But in my opinion it still looks like it's on stilts. :D

you'll definitely want to drop your car. im using eibachs and today
installed some dressup wheels with 205/40/17. its still got
some wheel gap thats making me uneasy. (offset 48mm). i hope
the eibachs resettle very soon. 205/45/17 would be much
better for cosmetic reasons, but 205/40/17 is much closer to
195/50/16 circumference.

Here's some pics of mine. I went with 205/40's, and I can't wait to drop it with some Eibachs.

Practicality. I've said to myself SO many times (espesially having the undercar neons) that "oh shit, glad I wasn't an inch lower or that would have been ugly!"

I'm going to do it eventually though regardless. I'll jsut have to be extra mindfull.

To lower or not to lower, that is the question

I am wondering if lowering the 5 will void any original ride height and condition warranties. I am still under one, so don't want to void it out $$$$$! I wanted to buy 18" shoes for da whip and lower using Eibachs, but heard lowering would void. Don't think rollin on just 18s with no drop would look good. Show me some pics of any 5s with 18s and no drop and those with drops for comparisons. Thanks guys. Keep on tweaking.

i c

yah, i was just wondering cause i lowered mine last week
and it was only like $250 to do (eibach springs). took me
about 5-6hours with handtools and a spring compressor.

anyway, yah, if you have road conditions that prevents you
from lowering it i wouldn't do it either.

warranty wise, the springs should only void your warranty
on the shocks. the Prokit's spring rate is so close to
factory that i think the shocks will last a good 25k miles or so...by
that time most factory struts tend to loosen up a tad
anyway... hopefully by that time tokiko will make p5
specific shocks so that i wont have to buy the endlinks
and swaybar, etc to make it all work.

btw, you can hit the www button below and you can
see my P5 with 17inch with eibach drop. pretty cool if you
asked me. :)
