What do you guys think? Are these worth the investment? I like the drop they offer and the couple people that have them installed claim the ride isn't too bad either. I wanna lower my car again in the spring, and I was gonna go with the Tein S-Techs but if these are comparable I'm willing to save $70.

they look good but I wanna know what the spring rate is.....ride height drop is fine for appearance but a springs first function is to handle bumps.

If it's comperable to a racing beat or eibach I'll take a set myself.

He doesn't know the spring rate 'cuz they're discontinued and the manufacturer says they don't have that info any more.

I would suggest using proven suspension.
Tein, Eibach, and for the Protege- racing beats are damn good too.

I only have one regret after doing the suspension on the Protege- not doing the SS's instead of the Basics. Save and spend the money on a quality/proven suspension setup. I say stick with the Idea of the S-techs.

Advice taken. Thank you all, S-Techs it will be. I screwed myself when I bought my Skunk2 coilovers because those killed my struts in less than a year so I don't wanna make the same mistake again. Hopefully the S-Techs treat me good.

P.S. Does anyone know where I should look to try and find a set of rear Illuminas for somewhat cheap? I have a front set but I can't find the back for less than $300 anywhere.

I made this mistake with my civic (90 sedan) back in the day. I bought a set of Jamex sport springs cause they were cheap. I ponied up the extra cash for bilstein struts, but it always felt a bit undersprung to me. (probably underdamped, too) It may have been an improvement over stock in terms of center of gravity, but deep in a corner the splash guards would touch down.

Ok so I bought them cause I couldn't resist the good deal and I have a question.

Does anyone else here have these installed? I just got mine put on last night and I love the drop but there's a lot of rubbing when going around corners. It seems to be a little more than 1.5" but the ride is still very comfy so I'm happy with them!

I guess I simply wanna know if anyone else besides me has issues with rubbing, because I didn't think that should be an issue. Also, I have Illuminas on the front, stock struts on back, and AWR adjustable endlinks all around. Tires are 205/45/17 on 17x7 American Eagle MSR rims (+40 mm offset).

Anyone have any advice on how to go about fixing the rubbing? It only happens in the back and when someone else is in the car (which is quite often too) or when I try to go around a corner at a somewhat higher speed.

Ya pays yer nickel and ya takes yer ride. Maybe you can have the rear fender lip rolled. Otherwise, maybe new rims with more positive offset. (+45mm)

I think it's gonna have to be the rims. I figured that's gonna be my only hope, I don't wanna even mess with modifying the body, so I'll be in the market for some new rims as soon as I get rid of my current ones.

If you have a P5 it's definitely the rims.
