wuz-up, new here...a few easy questions!!
Hey all, Paul here...aka RebelRacing.
I am the prowd owner of a '99 Protege LX touring edition (Canada). I have installed a K&N cone style filter, BroSpeed muffler and some dress ups like MOMO leather shift boot, shift knob etc. Here is my querry... I have installed a set of driving lights and I don't want my pesky DRL (daytime running lights) anymore... where the **** is the DRL module located so I can unplug it!?!! Any help appreciated. |
Sorry To burst your bubble Paul ,But if you check the laws you will find that all cars after a certian year must have DTRL on the car . This is a safty feature .
The other thing is that when i disconnected the relay on my 92 DX there where no high beams . I believe that the DTRL relay is tied into the high beam circuit Macklum |
Fogs, Headlamps, DRL...we need AC power to do all this!!
Greetings...
As to the DRL requirements, the purpose of my inquiry was to use the DRL 6-volt feed to the headlamps to signal the foglamp relay...thus using my fogs as DRL (and leaving the headlamps off). I just think that the yellow-orange colour the DRL emits clashes with the nice blue-white the fogs have...making me look like a dork riding up on your bumper!!!!haha I have also thought about buying the PIAA Super blues to match the fogs...this would be okay!! I would use the stock 55/65-watt bulbs, and would encourage anyone to be carefull using the HID/Superblue style high wattage lights...2 of my friends have fried the H/L connectors because of the increased heat! Does anyone know what the little box in a real HID system actually does??? P.S. - Richard... Heard of the "Highland Games?" I'm in a small town of 8000 called "Fergus, ON"... Where the MEN are pRRRowd and the SHEEP are scaRRRed!! |
fogs & lows/highs
90&00 Protege, could you tell us how you changed the fogs to operate independently of the lows/highs? I don't have DRL because our state doesn't require it.
Thanks. |
