It's inside the tank. I think to get to it you need to take out the back seat IIRC.

in order to get to it in my p5 all I have to do is flip the seat bottom forward and use four screws to remove the plate holding pump and everything in.

110k on original filter. I've heard it's not really a filter. . . just a screen.

yea its in the tank and is mounted with the fuel pump assm.i dont even think it can be gotten separtley.it is supposed to be life time filter.i have changed one once(complete assm)because someone got a bad tank of gas and it was partly clogged and would bog at wide open, high load throttle.let it be and dont worry about it like a honda it should go at least the life of the pump.

i know the post is old but .....

for however that will matter , the "filter" that goes in the tank is a prefilter a screen that will capture any big particle , the classic fuel filter goes behind the engine in the firewall and is a black metal cilinder with one tube at the top and another at the bottom , but you have to depresurize the system before you change it
