What do you think of BOSCH Spark Plugs
Refering to the Platnium 2 and 4's, I picked up the Platnium +4 but havent installed it yet.. waiting till this weekend...
here are the specshttp://www.partsamerica.com/product_.../BOS/PLAT4.jpg Bosch Platinum+4 Spark Plugs' revolutionary firing technology provides multiple spark paths to deliver the most powerful spark you can buy. Features include: Unique four ground-electrode provides optimal access to the air/fuel mixture for the most efficient combustion and longer life Pure center electrode is heat-fused to its insulator for peak fuel efficiency and maximum engine power Revolutionary surface air gap firing technology ensures superior burn characteristics for ultimate engine performance Factory pre-set gap makes installation simple and never requires adjustment Yttrium alloy ground electrodes provide longer performance life |
I highly recommend you only use factory approved stock replacement plugs unless you're planning on adding boost or juice to the motor.

i have the single bosh and they work great. i have heard that if u get the triple of quadro tips that it is to much spark and messes up alot of things in the long run.

Just use the NGK...they are hands down the best spark plug for Mazdas, Hondas, Toyotas etc.
If you just have to dick around with the spark plugs, get the NGK Iridium. Or if you've got the 2.0 engine, get the 1.6 spark plugs(do a search for the advantages) |
Bosch spark plugs work great as paperweights, and there it is probably a good idea to keep a couple on hand in your tackle box for weighing down your fishing line. But for your Mazda, there is no better plug than NGK. I particularly like their iridium plugs. Search the 3rd generation engine forum for reasons why I believe that is the case.

Oh, and one more thing about the four tipped plugs - spark will only occur to one of the ground electrodes at a time. Specifically, it will only occur to whichever one is closest to the center electrode. This will change over time, as gap erosion begins to occur.
The real problem with four ground electrode plugs is ignitability - the spark is more shielded from the fuel kernel. The advantage of having four ground electrodes is stronger anti-fouling performance. |
I had nothing but problems with the bosch. Its highly recommended that you use the NGKs in the Mazda engines.
