What to do...

I want to get the side skirts and rear skirt for the MP3, but would that look dumb if I didn't do the front? The front is really hard/expensive to retrofit to a 99ES I think. Any suggestions? Also I am thinking of putting in a stock sunroof at some point. Is this a bad idea, ie. will rusting be a prob? I just ordered some clear corners, and soon I'm going to get the MP3/MSP spoiler.

About rims, but I want to get some of the rims like on the 2001 MP3's the racing hart or whatever they are called. Howerver they have a 5 bolt pattern. Is there anyway to get that to work on my 99ES with the 4 bolt pattern?

Thanks everyone!

I don't think it would look particularly dumb.
Changing the front bumper is really not difficult, though as long as you or someone else can match the color correctly. I'm not crazy abut body kits but I think the JDM Sport 20 front bumper is pretty sharp.
The Racing Harts are very cool. The MP3 17s, I like them--but I like the Mazdaspeed version even better. Someday, maybe...
Anyway, I'm pretty sure you can change the hubs on our cars--someone out there might be able to tell you where to get them. DON'T use adaptors, though---dangerous and unreliable!!

its nto really changing the front bumper for us '99-'00 cars.... we have a different style of front headlights, which are a different shape, so we would have to retrofit a bumper made for the '01-'03

iw ould really liek to do the same thing as the rest of the body on our cars is exactly the same, so i was thinking, of what options i have to retrofiting,
maybe all we need is a little cutting, so it might not be too hard at all..... but yeah i'm basically int he same position as sk8er0i

Forget about changing out the hubs, it will require changing out virtually every part of the brakes, because you have to upgrade to 4 wheel discs, plus the rotors are larger on the 5 lug cars. Take the money you would spend on this and buy yourself a nice set of Volk wheels or something.

As far as the front bumper, I think it would look a little odd doing the sides and rear but not the front, but check out www.corksport.com , they've got the JDM 99-00 front bumper, as well as a Mazdaspeed bumper for the 99-00. These will also be much cheaper and easier than upgrading to the 2001-up, and I actually think I like them better.

As far as putting in sunroof...the pop-up kind are the cheapest but don't look as good, plus they are really prone to leaking. The best way is to have a body shop put in a sunroof the same as stock, but is very costly due to all the body work, paint and headliner work. Be prepared to shell out some cash for a good job!

Don't the 99ES have 4 wheel disc?

I know my 92 LX protege had 4 wheel disc I changed the rotor's and pads myself. I looked at my 99ES and the front are disc...the back have a cover on (or I'm an idiod..didn't look close enough and they are drum?), I guess I just assumed they were disc too.

Let me know if I'm wrong!

Thanks

Well I just went outside and checked again...and damn they are only font disc. Oh That is disappointing... oh well.
