Water leak
It rained last friday. Today I found about an inch of water in the left rear quarter panel well. I soaked it up, there's a little surface rust spots. The spare tire well was dry, as was the right quarter well. I read a TSB about an open seam behind the bumper, but it was for 99-00 sedans. (mine's an early 02 P5).
Any ideas about where water might be getting in? I pulled the tail lamp off and it seemed like the gaskets were okay. Anybody else had this problem? |
^ Yep. i posted my same problem/question a few days ago - no response.
My plan is to have my son inside and watch while i hose the outside from the bottom up - until he says he sees water. Too cold here - maybe in FL you could try it? Let us know! Thanks! |
Don't know if there'll be time this weekend, but that's what I plan on doing.

The TSB is a general troubleshooting guide. I was hoping some one had a found a bad weld or leaking tailight fixture or ? which would help the rest of us.

Eh, I'm no help on this one. I washed my car thoroughly with the high pressure hose at the car wash the other day and there's no water in the fender well. Maybe when I reinstalled the taillight, I inadvertently fixed the problem. I'll keep an eye on it and if anything happens, I'll report. Oh, and sorry about the redundant thread, some of the forums I never look at, so I missed your post under audio/interior/exterior.
