void the warranty?
My auto shop teacher told me installing that short throw shifter would void the warranty. Is this true or would it only void part of the warranty? if that part is the drivetrain, i think i can deal with the stock shifter for a few years.
whats the deal? thanks |
your shop teacher doesn't know what he is talking about....installing a short shifter will NOT void your warranty...
now IF you think that installing a short shifter is going to make your car faster....or make it some sort of hot rod and you start shifting it hard and break something in the tranny......well just put the stock shifter back on before you take it to the dealer....its not that it will truely make a difference...but some dealers are A$$ holes about aftermarket parts...no matter what they are.....some have ATTEMTPED to tell people that putting an intake on their car voided the ENTIRE warranty....not true... of you want the true "straight skinny"....go on line...look up the MAGNUSON-MOSS WARRANTY act....its federal law....the dealers can not get around it....they can give you a hard time...but its the law. |
