TSB's

Does any one know where I can find TSB's for the P5?
Thanks!
Ed

There is a better one than this somewhere but I can't find it. Sorry, hope this helps.

tsb

what are you looking for as I work at dealer

illinoised January-21st-2004 10:53 AM

My dealer replaced the catalytic convertor on my P5. I have 5200 miles on the vehicle, and the cat replacement was to "fix" a dash rattle that occurs when I accelerate from a dead stop and which happens at about 2K rpm. Others on the forum have mentioned the same rattle.
It is not an end-of-the world problem, but I find myself listening everytime I accelerate to see if it is going to happen (used to happen 50% of time but seems to have increased in frequency lately). The cat replacement did nothing to alleviate the problem, and the dealer is reluctant to explore further.
It seems as if the rattle is from behind the dash or at juncture of dash and window, on right side. I knew there was a problem with window moldings on earlier models, but that is extent of my knowledge about TSB's for this car that might relate to my problem.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

there is a flash for the pcm and a delay valve for a rattle cold up to about 150' degrees , some times it works and some times it does not , as i have a 03 protege and it didn't work. let me know if it is cold

It occurs whether or not the engine is cold or has been running for some time. The constant factor is that it occurs only when accelerating from a dead stop. Sometimes if I 'gun' it from the stop, it won't occur, but it will occur 50% from a normal type of acceleration.

I believe there is a TSB for the EGR valve problem as well as the rotors.

This is always a good resource page

I hope Edwin doesn't mind too much that I posted it ;)

Good luck on getting that rattle fixed.

I have a rattle in my B-pillar and my dealer won't look at it because it's not a driveability or safety concern....dorks.

p.s. they also dont replace my clutch (early morning / cold weather chatter) they say the TSB is only for 02 P5's and mine is an 03. ......double dorks.

Dale-
Thanks for info on the good site. I sympathize with the last post also, for my dealer shows no interest in further troubleshooting of the rattle. I faxed a list of items that the technician (the one that replaced the cat. conv.) might want to consider, and a week has gone by with no response from him or the service department.
This was my second new Mazda (had a Miata that I only traded in due to space needs) and I doubt if I go for a third, unless I go back to a Miata.
