summing up the mods 3rd Gen

Correct me if I am wrong...
Current Mods worth doing
1. AEM INtake (questionable, since Racing beat says ECU Does not like warm air).
2. Injen CAI intake
3. MazdaSpeed Exhaust Cam
4. Jspec FS-ZE Intake Cam
5. Bosal Exhaust

Not Worth Doing..
1. Jspec exhaust cam
2. Jspec Intake manifold

Wish List
1. Racing Beat Exhaust - Next 2 months maybe
2. Turbo - Maybe in the next 8 months?

Questionable upgrades:
1. Mazdaspeed stainless exhaust header - Unknown gains
2. Racing beat springs. Changes camber and wears out tires.

We are an authorized RB distributor. Until this point we have been modifying Miatas and RX-7's.

As for the Mazdaspeed header, I would not get it as it costs a shitload and eliminates all your cats. It is a big ass piece that eliminates both cats I believe. At least when I spoke to a MAzdaspeed rep, that's what I was told, which is why it is so expensive.

I will be releasing a polished as well as ceramic coated header in the next two to three months. This header will not eliminate the main cat, but will remove precat. Already in development. High possibilty of creating a supercharger kit. After seeing the JR charger for the new Focus SVT at the SEMA show, I saw how one could fit. I took pictures of the charger to work with. They were claiming like 215 horses to wheel, but that's on the SVT motor which pulls 170 bhp. Therefore, if we did the Mazdaspeed piston rods and cams we can run near to the same power.

As for springs, the car will not be lowered enough to worry about being out of proper camber adjustment. I lowered the ARD project MP5 with H&R springs which is much lower than the RB's and my alignment turned out great, guaranteed.

For my setup, I will do the Injen CAI, Header, Bosal cat back, struts, H&R springs and SSR GT1 18" wheels.

Just waiting on the release of a few parts.

Good luck, Rishie

Hmmm. The header sounds interesting, but unless there is a very large gain, I think I may wait for a turbo kit, as the turbo would require the removal of the header anyways..
I'm very undecided about changing wheels/springs. The car handles beautifully right now, and its nice and comfortable. Going to 18" rims, and new springs sounds like too rough a ride fore me. I think nice crome 16" rims would be all that I would do.

What do you think about the cams? The feedback so far seems that it's a quick HP fix for cheap.

You might want to hold off on the cam also if you are planning to get a turbo. The increased duration and overlap probably wouldn't be good for a turbo setup. Also, next to the FS-ZE intake cam, the headers would provide the next largest power gain.

hehe, just sit and wait for people to start dissing the chrome rims..... So many chrome haters on this board:crying:

I don't hate chrome wheels. I just don't understand why someone would want to build their car up to go faster, and then slow it down with heavy chrome wheels. I guess you can say the same thing about bass junkies with heavy subs, boxes, amps, extra batteries, and dynomat. Now that's a lot of added weight.

But then again, I don't remove my seats when I go down the 1/4 mile. I could also have someone lighter drive my car.

Why aren't there more Hi-Polished wheels availible?

Well, if you're going to wait on a turbo kit, put the CIA on hold too. Or just get what you want and put the stuff up for sale on the "For Sale/Wanted" forum.
