whoa I thought I was the only one that got shocked.

It got alot worse when I put my new 17"s on.
Its only in the pro that I get shocked in my old VW it was very rare but now its like a normal thing. I think Ill invest in some static guard.

Hmm... I dont' know about that. I have the leather interior in my Pro5, and I get static shocks WAY more often than I ever do in my Porsche (which has "leatherette" seats.) I tend to get shocked fairly often getting into my P5, actually... sometimes just touching the door handle after walking through the parking lot, and sometimes when putting the key in the ignition.

static charges are built up at different capacities depending on what two materials are rubbing together. Glass and wool work well. Wool on cotton is really fun to shock people with. Leather is also a very good source for a static charge. next time your in a leather car you may only have to rub yor arm against the seats to feel the charge attract your hair. There is also a charge built up on the skin of the car as well. the friction of the air and tires can build up a charge. I've given up on trying to solve the problem. Static guarding all my cloths seems to be too much effort. i'll just take it like a man and get zapped.

mine does the same thing, but I did a H.I.D swap and i thought is was somehow coming from the 2400 volts that the ballasts have running through them. But I guess its just my cloth seats..

It gets me good sometimes.

Same thing happen with me every single time when I get off the car.

I solved this problem the second day I had the car.

As you open the car door to get out, grab the middle of the top of the door frame with your right hand and get up and exit, still holding the door.

You can even use the door to help pull yourself up if you so wished.

I never get shocked anymore. It's quite simple and actually makes exiting the car easier.
