Stalling problems

My '03 P5 has stalled atleast 5 times over the course of 3 years. It is an auto by the way.

1st-They said it was a sensor that went bad (car was about 1.5 years old). Replace & fixed.
2nd-Possibly water in the "lines". They claim they did nothing and problem wnet away (car was about 2 years old).
3rd-A spark plug was misfiring (at this point the care was almost 3 years old). Replaced & fixed.
4th & 5th (happened on back to back days)-The car stalled at low speed or at idle. Check engine light came on momentarily. Put the car in neutral and attempted to restart successfuly.

Any one here think that I'm getting jerked around by the stealership?

Any other ideas?

Making any noise?

Does it sputter? When you're idling, does the tach bounce up and down a little or is it pretty steady? Also, how's your gas mileage been lately?

The car doesn't make any noises. Not to mention that I probably wouldn't be able to hear it over the radio :o .

The first 3 times it stalled on me it did sputter. These last two times happened without warning.

As far as the tach IMO it's pretty steady. It may fluctuate by a couple of hundred RPM's but that's mormal, right?

I haven't checked my gas mileage in a long time, I'll have to try and get back into that habit again. By the way the cars last service was the 30,000 check up. Plus the battery was replaced.

I think you should listen to the idle closely without a radio and let me know what you hear...

my low idle and occasionaly stall was a dirty carbon'd up IAC module...it's a real easy clean and fix, you may wanna try that first before going to the stealership?

I did listen a couple times over the past few days, I heard nothing out of the ordinary. No knocking, pinging or sputtering. And of course it didn't stall either.

Thanks for the tip Bazooka.

Check the EGR also, they have a tendency to get gunked up.
