Squeaking sound first few mins drive off on P5

Hey guys, I have about 2000 miles on my P5 and love it. However. when I start driving my car after it sits there for a few hours, I can hear a squeak from the rear of the car for the first few seconds of the drive. After a few seconds it goes away. Anyone have this problem? Any ideas?

I bet a light coat of rust is forming on your rotors overnight and the rear pads--which are used for the parking brake and are therefore in contact with the rotors all night long--are sticking slightly until you scrape the rust off. Nothing to worry about as long as it goes away after the first stop or two.

Another Idea

This may well not be the nature of your problem, but for some time I noticed a squeak from the rear of the car when driving over various bumps in the road. Upon further investigation I found it to be the particle board flooring under the trunk carpet rubbing the metal of the rear of the car, near the tail light assembly. I repositioned the floor to try and reseat it in place, and the problem was corrected.

Sounds like you might have a different issue, but figured I'd mention it in case anyone else has similar squeak issues...

Enjoy your ride!

I get a brake squeak from the rear brakes when the car is first run in the morning. Two stops later it is gone. Sure does sound like the rust theory might be valid.

My does the exact same thing, two or three pumps on the brake and the squeak is gone. Bloody annoying.

I got this too, it's the rear brakes. It is freeking annoying, but I get it after every time the car is parked. Lasts until the first stop and then goes away....
