The Lancer Is Gay, Gay, Gay

Warning: It's another one of my opinionated posts! Advanced apologies about that! :)

Anyway, dude, I've seen many of those hideous Lancers driving around, and the other day I finally saw one of those gay-ass yellow "Rally" Lancers. That car is fuckin' gay, alright? :gay:

Not only is it ass ugly, I understand from the reviews quoted above that it doesn't even differ from lower trim line Lancers. So what do you get? A lame-ass car that's heinous, and presents no advantages over lower trim lines in the same model.

Oh yeah, and the advertising campaign that's been airing in the U.S. is also gay. What the guy should have done was just pull over and GIVE his car to the in laws with a kid eating chocolate ice cream, and then run before they can give it back to him. THAT would be the best way to get even with them.

This car, in every way, is gay, gay, gay. Sorry, but it makes me want to barf.

Lastly, a poor review of the Dodge Neon doesn't surprise me in the slightest. The Neon has never been a good car, and has never delivered reliability performance anything better than average, most of the time pumping out worse than average reliability.

Dodge. Geeze...

I agree that the Lancer has got to be one of the ugliest little sedans on the road - and in "OZ Rallye" trim, gimme a break. I think it's still riding on 14" wheels - and they are an ugly set of wheels at that - look like used $40 old-school "five-stars". Blah.

And what about that new Suzuki Aero?? I know it wasn't reviewed in those articles, but I gotta say that it might be the only car that could make the Lancer look "acceptable". Emphasis: MIGHT.

But one serious question - how does the MP3 in the Car and Driver article have yellow calipers?? Oh, yes, look close - they are yellow. Was this how they came from the factory? If so, I had no idea.

I never quite understood Edmunds comparison tests... The third generation Protege has received top honors in comparison tests from every major magazine that has run a comparison test. However, in Edmunds, the Protege has never placed higher than 3rd place.

Car and Driver uses words like "balance" and "handling" and "grip"...

Edmunds uses words like "fuel mileage" and "trunk space" and "back seats"...

Two years ago, they compared the fully loaded Protege ES automatic with the Premium Package to other vehicles equipped with manual transmissions and no options. They slammed the Protege for its relatively high price and automatic transmission. They rated it one point above the Hyundai Elantra. They gave first place by a wide margin to the Sentra GXE... of which I just had as a rental and I can't believe anyone would think it's a better car than the Protege! Let alone, way better...
