time for me to change plugs. thinking of going with either denso iridiums or bosch platinum 4's. anyone know if one is better than the other?

one vote for Bosch - i see a miniscule improvement. The platinum looked pretty used up after 30K miles - i thought i could push the interval with 'em...

Stick with the OEM copper plugs. You can't do better than that.

check this link for in depth info, then make your decision. I have the Bosch Platinum +4 personally, but a lot of others prefer the iridium ix.

NGKs--I recently switched to the NGK ZRF5F-11 and I'll be posting up some modestly informative results from the last few weeks of running them. Very nice match for our engines though.
I'd go with these or the NGK OEM plugs.

With my experiements with NGK Irridiums Vs. Bosch +4s, it seems the claim of Fuel economy goes to Bosch and there was a slight fuel consumption, confirmed with Three 200km tips with Two cars and swapping plugs on the return trip. (Confirmed)

In terms of horse power, the Dyno yield confusing results and will have to be repeated.

The dyno was performed on a cold car, start first with the BOSCH plugs and then a few minutes later a switch over to the NGK IX Iridiums.

The Bosch edged over by 1 HP. But some in my crew are disputing it due to the cold vs. hot plug run

Me i dont really see how that would be cause we still had to let the car cool before taking the plugs out so even if its warm, would it really make that difference?

Either way, That there are some engines thats doesnt seem to like the Bosch plugs.... so some people complain about....

I myself have noticed a lower idle but other then that havent really noticed any problems. but i will say that if you are running these plugs and you see idling or operation problems, give your car a dose of Fuel system/Fuel Injector cleaner xtra strength and shoot up on 91 Octane gas for 2 full tanks.

I have seen it work on our second Mazda car for our tests.

I got the NGK Iridiums. The engine felt more responsive, but I am pretty sure it was all mental. A month later, the engine feels like it's struggling again.

The moral to this sotry, don't waste your money, the original OEM plugs may not be then best, but they were good enough. I'm about to rip these NGKs out and get some new OEM ones from the dealer.

hmmm... decisions decisions. haha. thanks centsless for the link, it gave me some knowledge i didn't have before, and that's always good. i just ordered some magnecor 8.5mm wires, and i guess i'll have to pick a plug by the time the wires get here. thanks for the help dudes.

went with bosch platinum 4's and put those in this weekend with the new magnecor 8.5's. car seems to run smoother. i guess in a couple weeks or so i'll see if the gas mileage goes up.
