Screeching in cold weather problem
Hi, just wanted to ask you guys if you might know what the following could be caused from:
Ever since it's gotten cold in Toronto whenever I start driving the car I hear a screeching sound from what appears to be the wheels. The sound is peridic with the speed and it's a bit like the one that worn brake pads make. Anyways the sound eventually goes away after a couple of minutes. Anybody got a clue. Thanks in advance for the help. |
Does it happen first thing in the morning or after the car's been parked for a few hours? Some brake pads will usually make a noise like worn pads when they're cold. Good luck!

I decided it was just another way my car says good morning.. engine rattling/pinging.. wheels squeeking .. man does my car sound like a P.O.S. when shes cold :) |

Good luck! Actually it happens after the car has been parked for a few hours. But it's not when I press the brake necessarily it's simply when the wheels move. Strange thing in my opinion. Does anyone other than Fraggy and I experience this annoyance? |
i just noticed this myself lately... and it has gotten colder... i put winter tires on and saw that my brake pads and rotors were fine... most likely it from either moisture or the rotors and pads being cold. thats my judgement.

Mine does the same thing. It basicly feels like a 20 year old beater when its cold out.

So I guess most people haven't had this problem. Maybe it's just to cold in Toronto.
