Roof Cargo Box available for P5!
 

I was at my local dealer in Sunnyvale picking up a cargo tray when I noticed in the P5 brochure they have a Rooftop cargo box for sale. The dealer wanted 242 but mazdastuff has it for 190! MazdaStuff has the same part#0000-8L-G05 on their site under the MPV section. I guess MPV and P5 racks are compatible. I also noticed the got bike racks too. Anyone know how big 13 cubic feel is? BTW the pic of the box is sitting on a P5!

I have a Thule excursion cargo box. It has 13 cubic feet of storage. You can't believe how much stuff that is! I could fit a Delta table saw with base(new in the box) up there along with a crap load of other things and still had room for more. It weighs 26 pounds you have to take that into account for the the total weight you put up there.

I saw a white p5 with the same box. Are you from the Bay Area? Does your hatch open with the box on? How is the noise level and gas milage with the box on? Whats the max size of a box you can put on w/o hindering the hatch? Thanks!

Hey from the bay area. I have been to all three of the Mazda dealers in the silicon valley area and they all have crazy high prices, Mazdastuff will beat them every time. I was looking at the pictures of the roof rack some time ago, and it looks identical to the offering from Thule. Is Mazda sourcing the thule rack? I know that the thule rack will attach to the factory crossbars with nothing additional.
