zacky... what color car is it? I would imagine that knowing this would make a difference.

I think that I would not have gotten the polished rims with my P5 if they had not already been on it (silver car).

Let us know so we can make a better choice.:dunno:

Personally, I avoided the polished wheels like a plague :)

I simply refused to pay 400 USD extra for a same sized wheel with the same pattern.

It was SO hard to find the right car with the right options and colour. Glad I found one. :)

Yeah, i'm not a big fan either. They look cheezy to me. :dunno:

The DTM is not polished, it is painted silver on the sides of the spokes and machined with clearcoat on the front. Actually a nice looking wheel for the price. I had these on our older MR-2. A really nice wheel. Only $575.00 shipped for the 17's. I can do tires as well, premounted and balanced.

There are only two sets left of the DTM, but because it is a 7" with a 40mm offset, you would need to run a 205/45.

The sokudo is a replica of the Volk Racing GT-N, real nice.
The sokudo however is offered in Gunmetal, White, Gold, and Silver. This is produced in a 17,7 +48 which means you can tuck the shit out of the car, absolutley no way it would rub on the outside in the rear. The front is easy to fit, it's the rear that's a bitch.

The DV-8 is also available in silver or black. There are several 18" options as well. Can also get the Kasai.

My favorite would be the Rota Subzero, lightweight and cheap. that's what I'm gonna run on the street and some Volks for show.

Any of you guys like the Racing Hart CP-035, I can get the lightweight cast version of this produced by Rota. They are not on the shore yet, but I will accept pre-orders for them in both 17" and 18" colors: gunmetal, silver, bronze, black. This rim only weighs about 16 lbs, lighter than my forged wheels and will only cost about $600 - $700.00 for a set of wheels. Perfect fitment as well.

Let me know if interested.

First i want to thank everyone that voted, thanks a million. I really like the first ones and think ill get it. I hate the polished wheels(the DTM's arent polished). I got a silver P5. Also, is there any way i can go bigger than a 205 size tire? 205 seems kinda small but i guess its ok. I guess its better to go with a more fitting tire than ro rub everywhere and have to deal with problems.

Please continue to vote on the poll and thanks to everyone that has.

Now i just need to figure out how i wanna lower my car. Should i go for the Ground Control Coilovers? or the H&R's? or possible the custom air shocks($2000). if i get the custom air. its definatly gonna have to wait cuz i dont have much money, heh. I think ill go with the cround controls. Anyways, what would it be like if i were to have just these rims on for a few months without the car being lowered? would it look all goofy like some cars do when they get rims but dont lower it? anyone got pics of a P5 with rims(preferably 17's) and not lowered? I dunno, this is another dilema for me. THanks everyone once again, this board kicks ass and i come here every day!!

ahhh, broadband :D i dunno what i'd do if i had to dialup again :( which i'm sure will happen when i decide to move out. anyway, those rims look tight in white. i'm really considering looking into them for my white '00 after seeing them on that pro5. do they fit the 4 lug and how much do they run with tires and where? :p

Protege5chick November-23rd-2001 01:31 AM

all i gotta say is that the first one's are SWEEEEEEET!

ZackyFarms16 November-23rd-2001 03:12 AM

Hey thanks for the pics Protege5!! really helpful man. Yea i got a silver P5, so if i get these rims I might get the silver DTM's not polished or white ones, just the aluminim type look. Hey Protege5, is this yours? if so is it lowered? What tire size are you using? and do u ever rub? I think the pics are prety dope and really sorta puts things into perspective. Now, i really like the KMC Velocities too!! So, I think it will be between these DTM's and the KMC Velocities. THe only problem with the Velocities is that theyre kinda the common style, what do u guys think bout em??

Konig Verdicts in Black Opal

I've got a blue Pro5, and like the black opal verdicts from Konig.
I just think the blue and black would look sweet.

The dark color won't show the brake dust as bad as the stock rims, or any other lite color polished rims. It doesn't look like these Konigs come in the 7.5" width though.

Protege5 November-24th-2001 03:34 PM

Yes it is my car
I got this rims from my friend
they are $1000 CA
second hand but it comes with brand new Kumho 712 tires

They are 215/40/17

Dont go for 45 series
45 will rub for sure

I didnt lower my car
the third picture u see that it looks like lowered becoz the back sit with 3 ppl .......
when the back seat full load
it will rub for sure
the tires rub the fender only the back full load

maybe if u lower your car
u will solve the rub problem, becoz the aftermarket spring will be more stiffer

The DTM makes 4 lugs but the Protege 5 comes with 5 lug x 114
so if u have a DX sedan
mine wont fit yours

the velocity actually looks really good
but the side ( the edge ) part
it sticks out makes me dont really like it
i felt that if its on the Protege 5 and use 215 tires
it will look sooo ( hmm ) sooo
I mean it will look so THICK and BIG

i think i have seen someone using this one or others that look wannabe it

it looks good
u can give a try

Actually
i am kinda regret that i got the DTM

the DTM is not any good brand or quality
they are heavy
i can feel the different between stock and 17"

i would suggest u to get some lighter one if u have money
if u just wanna go for look
got those goodies one

ARD MP5 November-24th-2001 08:26 PM

I repeat, do not run a 215/40 on the DTM. You sir are not lowered and therefore have not seen the potential problem with that fitment. I was not reccommending a 215/45 I was recc. a 205/45.

If you run a 215/40 on a 7" width, +40mm offset, wheel, you will rub. I guarantee it.

By the way, unless you want to buy some Forged wheels, which we carry Volk Racing for like $1600.00 (wheels only), the DTM's are just as good as any other cast wheel. Just as good as a Konig or an Enkei, etc.

I always reccommend getting light wheels, it only makes sense. Except the fact that it severely limits your options as far as styles. I will be getting in some 16lb. cast wheels for about $600.00, perfect offset too. Both 18" and 17" available in different colors:gold, silver, gunmetal. Hold your horses til Christmas and I'll repost.

Thanks, Rishie

imo these oz wheels polaris-rims suit the 323/protege really well...

ARD MP5 November-26th-2001 06:06 PM

We GOTS OZ, one of my favorite brands.

They are not lightweight though, very strong but not light. Get the Superleggerras if you want a lite OZ.

I got the OZ Montecarlos-RX7, OZ Volcanos-Miata, OZ Nova Modulars-540i. Then I got my forged shit for track and function, but the OZ's got STILES.

I can do pretty good deals on this stuff too.

Thanks, Rishie
