kosmicride October-2nd-2002 10:46 AM

Ramps for a Truck to get a ATV in?

Mxyzptlk October-2nd-2002 10:49 AM

LOL. Well you could drive a power wheels car up em... maybe one of those could fit in the back... or maybe a big wheel.

sandman October-2nd-2002 10:50 AM

Hahaha..

Nope - rhino ramps are your standard automotive ramps, except these are made of high strength plastic, have rubber non-slip grips on the bottom, and are low profile so our P5s won't rub up against them when driving up them.

I got mine from Wal-Mart. They work great and never slip out from under when you are going up them. They also only cost about $30 US.

Got mine at Auto Zone for $25US. I don't know if they have those in Vancouver though

Floor jack and jack stands are much nicer.

Installshield October-3rd-2002 04:29 PM

Why?

Not if you are only changing the oil or doing something quick when you don't need the suspension uncompressed

I have a floor jack and jack stands, but I don't lug them out to get under for a minute to wrench the drain plug off.

kosmicride October-3rd-2002 05:29 PM

that is very true but in order to get the oil to drain out of your motor and do a *pseduo correct* oil change the car will have to be level. Its alot easier to drop the car straight down then jack it up to pull out the ramps. besides driving up those is a pain in the ass no matter what brand you have of those ramps. IMHO

Installshield October-3rd-2002 11:15 PM

You can also just pour the half quart or so that was unused from your last oil change through the engine with the drain plug off. That helps to push the particle filled shitty old oil out.

you are right with the pain in the ass those things are to pull onto, especially with wider tires. The have rubber feet but still slide on my garage floor. I think it is time for me to build a pit.
