Remove dealer badging
 

When I bought my protege, I forgot to demand that they remove their ugly advertising from my car. I might take it in and ask them to do it, but I'd rather just do it myself if it's easy to do and won't damage the paint. Any advice? What's the best way of removing their damn stickers?

I've looked through the archives, but I didn't see much.

I would have the dealer emove it...especially if you havent had the car for a long time. It's not difficult to do but they have detail people there who can buff it up or correct any minor flaws that come up.

What I have done in the past is to use a generic heat gun or hair dryer to soften up the glue and then a bottle of windex to soak the sticker. Once it's good and soft you can use dental floss to gentle scrape it off.

Cant see where you live, but all I did was point the ass of my car towards the sun, let it get good and hot then just peel them off...afterwords use some light citrus based cleaner to remove the residue and then wash the car....just removed all the stickers from autocrossing yesterday...car is allllllllllll black now...

I think I may just take it back to the dealership. The sticker has been on there for a few months now though, so they'll probably hassle me about it... argh. oh well.

if they do its a 10 minute deal with a hair dryer, just keep moving the hairdryer so you dont damagae the paint

ditto. little glue left on the car but i just used some cleaner wax and the glue came right off.

ha, you guys are lucky. Here they put a metal one, I really wish they wouldn't.

I just used a razor blade, very, very carefully. Worked like a charm, didn't leave any glue behind. I used to have to remove decals from company trucks, razor blades work the best.

eek! one slip and you're hosed though

try using Goo-Gone on the sticker. Spray it on it and wait a few minutes then use something thats flat and scrape the decal off. works like a charm. I've completely debadged my car, shaved my antenna, molded half my door handles, and removed the side moldings and the pin stripping from my car. Thats how i Did all of that.

isopropyl alcohol will usually break down the adhesive - that's how I cleaned up the sides after peeling off the stupid door side moulding.
