Question on cleaning tint.

Hi.... have'nt been here for ages.

My p5 is rockin and i have 8k on it now.

Was just wondering... what do you guys use to clean tinted windows (inside on the actual film). Will the average window cleaner harm the tint?

sup man

whats up

never use any kind of window cleaner with ammonia in it. this will ruin your film. (over time)

i use clear view window cleaner, its ammonia free and you can get it at most auto stores.

Use baby shampoo, works well, just a couple of drops in the bucket and mix well, Wipe with water after.

a combination of the two previous posts is what my tint shop told me to do....NEVER EVER use anything with amonia in it as it will attack and destroy your film over time....and two....the BEST thing in their opinion was to use MILD soapy water to clean the insides of your windows.

i use Armor All Tinited Window glass cleaner.. works well and leaves a streak free shine

I use the Armorall window cleaner with no ammonia. Just make sure you don't use anyhting with ammonia.

Eagle-One 20/20 is tint safe.

Tint shop here recommended Sprayway window cleaner.. Comes in a can, old-fashioned style.. Works great, and I like the "spray it on and it stays" performance when cleaning.. Don't have to chase the runs..

Hard to find.. check your local grocer..

I use a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water on my tinted windows. Don't ask me why, it just works.

Ugh....doesn't that smell like vinegar in your car after??

Also, I'd be worried about the acetic acid affecting the adhesive of the tint...but maybe it doesn't hurt it...I dunno for sure.

Yeah it smells for awhile but it works really well, and my vanillaroma shit takes over in a few minutes. No streaks or nuthin. Like I said I can't even remember why in the hell I ever started doing this.

Pro_fan Aug 9, 2002 01:26 AM

Hey if it works, it works! :D

I use the 50/50 water/vinegar solution on my outside glass when I get hella brutal water spot action. It's the vinegar (acetic acid) that works on the water spots...dissolves the hard water (mostly lime and/or calcium) spots easily!

Thanx for the great response guys.

Gonna try the Armor All amonia free window stuff. I've seen it around and is easy for me to get.
