Protege Question
Does anyone have a 2002 Mazda Protege?
If you do does you car do the following: 1) When you leave you lights on after you take the key out of the ignition, is there a Warning sound that your lights are on? 2) If the driver does not have a seatbelt on, is there a warning sound? 3) If you leave your keys in the igition, is there a warning sound? My car is 3 months old and non of these things happen- but the Manual say it is suppost to. Ohio |
1. yes
2.yes 3.yes |
Very interesting-mine does not do that-left lights on and 5 hours later- the batttery was GONE. Had to get it charged.
Going to have to contact Mazda. Thanks:eek: |
Welcome to the board Ohio... yes it definately sounds like you should contact Mazda about that. If you leave the lights on, it gives off a continuous notice that they're on. As for the seatbelt, I'm not sure if the 01/02's are diff from the 99/00's but mine doesn't have a warning for the seatbelt, just a light on the instrument cluster.

Okay....I have an '02 P-5...
there is a warning for the lights being left on....and the key in the ignition....BUT....if you are in the car...start it up....and drive off withOUT your seatbelt....there is no bell or buzzer going off...but there is a light on the dash that will NOT go off. |
Hmmmmmmmmm
I have the same with the seat belt light, but the Book said a beep should occur..look inot that more. But I have nothing-no warning about lights/ignition. |
In my '01 LX 2.0, if you start the engine without the driver's seat belt done up, there is a beep that goes on and off for about 5-10 seconds and the light on the dash turns on. After the beeping stops, the light stays lit on the dashboard until the driver's seat belt is done up.
