Protege 2000 catalytic converter on ebay

Hi, i would like to know if it's a good thing to buy a brand new jobber catalytic converter off EBAY

Ebay catalytic converter

My mazda dealer is charging $1005.00can for a new one and it's only about $220can from EBAY. Are they as good as OEM or it's pure crap?

Thanks

If it was me, I would scrap the cat and buy a header. Way less than the dealer cost, and you will get a nice performance upgrade. Unless you have to have emissions testing. Then you may be screwed, and have to replace the cat. If so, go for the ebay one IMO.

Here in quebec, we never have to pass emission tests so it's not a problem. If i go with a header, will i have problems with O2 sensors and the check engine light?

Thanks

Depends on the header. Some will and others won't. Kargoboy on this forum offers great headers made by Thunder, and he's not too far from Canada so he should be able to make the shipping pretty reasonable for you too. Send him a PM, here's a link to his sale thread .
