Problem with windows

I was just wondering if anyone else was having problems with their power windows? My passenger one goes down, but doesn't always wanta go back up.

I have a sound comming from my drivers side window, it sounds like its grinding some gears

I have the same sound coming from my drivers window. I am going to have Mazda look at it next time I am in there

I've also got that not-so-great sound coming from my driver's window... hmmmm :(

Same here, has happened since day one.

I've already been to the dealer about this noise. They replaced the driver's side window regulator, which solved the problem -- for a couple of months. Now the grinding sound is back. I'm going to have them look at it again, but at least now I know it's not just me noticing this.

I've got that too, they lubed the tracks, which seemed to help. But I can still here it a certain spots. Never had a problem with the rears though.

You know listening to it it doesn't sound like the gears are grinding (too fast for that, the gears are pretty big). It sounds more like perhaps it's flexing a bit in it's mounts. Oh well...if in the next 3 years of the warranty it doesn't get any worse, I will just live with it and say "oh well". But if it does get worse I will have the dealer on it right away :)

It doesn't grind on mine. However I notice that the driver window mechanism doesn't sound as smooth as the other three. The motor "hums" a bit louder than the rest. But that might due to me taking apart the driver door panel too much (4 times now) when trying to fix my door rattle.

hey guys - she's not talking about grinding noises - she's talking about a window that doesn't even move sometimes!!

Sorry P-Mom! I haven't had any issues like this on mine.. How do you get it to go back up?? Does it just eventually go back up on its own?

firefly August-22nd-2002 10:29 PM

I know...but we're trying to discuss a potentially related problem. Seems that the power window/sunroof mechanism is one of the P's week point.

You might want to take it back to the dealer. Sounds like it could be a window regular about to die on you.
