problem with dash lights
Hi, this is my first post & I know very little about Mazda's so hopefully this is in the right place...
I'm fixing up (to sell) a 2003 Protoge ES for a family friend that is out of state (it's a long & confusing story). My problem is that whenever I turn on my headlights the dashlights go off and will not come back on until the headlights are turned off. I tried adjusting the dimmer switch & nothing happened. As far as I can tell all of the fuses are good. Also, when looking @ the guide for what fuses go where I noticed that the ABS slot is empty, how do I tell if my car has ABS so that if needed I can replace the fuse/relay. Any advice is greatly apprecieated as I have no working knowledge of Mazdas (I'm a BMW & American Muscle Car guy so some of this stuff is really different looking - although I am very impressed with the car). Thanks, Micah |
Unless you pulled the fuse - my guess is that you don't have the optional ABS (which, by the way i have not missed - car stopps well even in a panic. Besdies - great handling saves airbags! ;))
wow. head scratching on the lights issue... |
