power locks possessed?

Ok, on Thursday and every day before my locks were functioning just fine. Then for the entirity of Friday the 13th, (yesterday) whenever i tried to unlock the doors with the key fob (driver's only or all at once) they would immediately lock back up. I tried about 20 times but always same results. I used the key to get in and as soon as I shut the door, they locked. Then I tried the power lock button. Same effect, they would unlock momentarily and then lock right back up! It was bothering me all day, and I even had other people try it to make sure I wasn't going crazy. So I gave up and went on about my Friday night drinking, crashed at my buddy's house, and slept till midmorning. Suprise! when I get up I go down to my car and all power lock functions are working perfectly! I've never seen anything like it. Please tell me there is a reason other than demonic presence!

And I thought I was the only one strange shit happened too....this is cool, maybe Im not going crazy either?

My latest example, my A/C quit blowing cold air in the middle of a long highway drive for about one hour, then it was fine again after the car sat for awhile. Ive had this happen to another car also on a long drive, yet no one else has experienced it but me...strange, very strange...

Was the other car, a Ford, by any chance?

 On a ford....yes... can never get one with the durn A/C to work.... [my parents] used to have an 88 Taurus... also... [my parents] once rented an Aerostar.... neither of had A/C that could ever function for any duration of time. And they could never fix it! Hence why the Taurus got traded in for a camry :D

[music] play twighlight zone theme

.....There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man.
It is a dimension as vast as space and timeless as infinity.
It is the middle ground between light and shadow,
between science and superstition,
and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge.
This is the dimension of imagination.
It is an area which we call . . . the Twilight Zone.

Mach 1....I had this happen to me once....but I know WHY it happened..and I also know why it CAN happen to any car.....

did you have your A/C system in RECIRC? what will happen it the coils will ice up....and the air that does get through doesn't get cooled properly.....but if you stop....or turn the system off for a little while...the ice melts and then the system goes to working fine again.....when you first turn your system on have it in recirc to cool the car down faster....then switch over so that the air its pulling in is from outside the car...and this won't happen.

sup Dude...and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

as for your car.....I think there is just a GHOST IN THE MACHINE.

Come to think of it, I had some weird problems with my locks on Friday as well  I started the car in the morning going to the last day of school. When I got to my friends house to pick her up, I can usually use my CompuSTAR to lock the doors with the keys in the ignition...didn't work...so I started to worry, got back in the car, turned it off and tried it again...nothing...then all of a sudden, it decided to arm itself, with dual shock sensor on and vibrate mode, which is what I usually have set for school, considering the people there and classes...weird thing was I set those on @ school, and my dad had it the day before, and didn't have the dual shock on nor the vibration mode....Im scared....

Good theory and makes sense, but it wasnt in recirc.

But considering a lack of any more plausible other explanation, ill buy it.

Farsyde June-16th-2003 10:01 AM

next friday the 13th walk under a latter wearing a rabbit's foot over a cracked mirror with a black cat sitting on top of your car. Hell maybe you'll win the lottery with all that karma at once.....or be smite by a lightning bolt, it's really a toss up

MAybe this helps you... Last night I was working on a Mustangs power locks and we had to reset the remote transmitters. In order to do so you have to turn the car from ACC to OFF eight times ending at ACC then the locks cycle.

Then you have to hit each button on the remote (each time the locks cycle) after you hit all the buttons wait a few seconds and the lock cycle a last time to confirm reset worked then turn off the car.

I havent tried this to see if it works on the Pro.

Exactly! Us DX guys never have gremlins like that.

Concerning the AC glitch: I've also seen coils ice up if the freon is low (sounds odd, I know). Check to see if you need a recharge, maybe?
