power draw

When i have the lights on and the stero the lights seem to dim slighty but often. Is it because of the innercooler?
Or something else?

Thanx

Re: power draw

I'm not sure I'm understanding your question but the intercooler has nothing to do with the electrical system. It's part of your turbo system. Do you have an aftermarket audio system installed?
Some owners have experienced dimming under heavy current draw with such systems. If not, have your dealer check out your electrical system.

it's the alternator...the stock alternator is a very weak unit. On the MSP with the factory subwoofer it'll draw more power putting a heavier strain on your alternator and charging system. I would think about installing a "lightning cap" or similar product that will store power to give to the stereo when the bass hits. This keeps the stereo from draining power directly from the alternator.

Sir Nuke may know more about this. Go to the Audio thread and ask him about alternator strength / lights dimming.

It's quite common for most vehicle to do this. One option is to install a grounding kit. You can make your own for buy one from the many companies that are making them now. This will help a little.
