Plastic sounding rattle in left front wheel well/driver compartment
Hey everyone, I have a 2003 Protege ES 5-speed, which I just picked up in December. For about the past week, when going over bumps, I've noticed a sound like rattling plastic coming from the left front wheel well/ clutch pedal area. I looked in the engine bay and around the wheel well to see if I could locate the source of the rattling, and I could not. Today, when I checked out the floor area under the pedals, I noticed the dead pedal under the carpeting was plastic, and loose. Is this dead pedal also an access panel for electronics or something like that? I think it might be the source of my rattle. Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure about the rattle, but the dead pedal does nothing. Most of my rattle probs come from the rear deck and spoiler.

I think I have the same rattle that you are talking about. I have a 03 ES Auto but I have not been able to locate the rattle

Yeah, after driving to work today, I don't think it's the dead pedal, more like something right under the floorboards. Anyway, I don't think it's anything serious, so I'll just have it looked at at my 3,000 mile service. Otherwise, I love my Protege! |
