Pillar gauges install

ok I'm gonna get a triple pillar pod from autometer, along w/nitrous pressure gauge, A/F ratio gauge, and voltmeter.
I know how to install the n20 gauge, but how hard are the others to put in?

Let me know what you find out. I have been considering pillar guages for oil pressure and amp.

are you getting the universal triple guage pod? Cause I thought Autometer only made single and dual gauge pods so far for our Pros. I am thinking about getting it, but Im not sure which gauges would be most useful...any insight?? I was thinking of A/F and Voltmeter. The gauge pod is gonna cost me 60 CDN, shipping is like 20 :wtf: ...EVIL!!!

i just finished ordering the triple a-pillar gauge pod from Option Auto (http://www.optauto.com/webstore/prod...k=yes&dept=456)

and also ordered the gauges for voltage, oil pressure, and water temp (another company). anyways, the gauge pod is currently 'out of stock', but i decided to order it anyway, before i spent the money on something else.

i dont think the voltage one will be a problem, but the oil pressure gauge makes me nervous, because we dont have wiring for it already. and the water temp shouldnt be a problem, my dad just installed one is his truck, and it's marvelous.

Make sure that it is for the Protege and not just a misprint. Notice, on the website it is in the Mitsubishi store and the 3 guage is not available in the Mazda section. From my understanding the 3 guage was not available for the Protege. Check it out and let me know.

the gauge pods from autometer are supposed to be painted protege(5)'s interior color when they come out.

Not sure about the ECU pinouts on the P5, but the A/F can either be spliced in at the 02 sensor or at the pinout for 02 sensor at the ECU. Power should be on a switched source and ground is pretty much any nut and bolt :)

Does anyone know if the 02 wire is shielded? If so, splice as close to the sensor as possile. you'll never get a good connection if it is shielded and you may mess up the reading!

Good luck.
