NU-B question...P5 or ES?

Hi all. I am new to the boards as well as Mazda. Mazda got my attention with the recent MazdaSpeed race here in the DC area. Former owner of a 98 Neon RT...which got hit (then totalled) while parked. Anyway, after the great experience driving the Mazda6, the next car I want to get IS going to be a Mazda. I want the MazdaSpeed Protege, Titanium..but its a tad out of my range. Researched alot on the P5's and the ES. Same everything...tranny, engine, suspension (I think) other than the 70-ish lbs due to the slightly larger P5. any other differences?

The only one I know of is the Leather Seats option on P5, other then that, I do not there are any. I personally like P5 better. It looks better up front with the fog lamps, and it has that extra space for the times you need it most. When I will be getting out school next year, I will be looking into a slightly used or new P5.

The protege5 is hot! I love the look of the front bumper!! They are offering all kinds of discounts for end of the year sale..and for the savings you will get for a p5 vs. a mazdaspeed..you can invest in one of the many aftermaket turbo kits out there!!

P5 definitly.

P5 comes with a strut tower bar. P5 is also an inch or so shorter. All comes down on weather you want to deal with the "you have a wagon!!??" comments or not.

i hear that, but once they see it they're like "whoa, that's a nice ride" and forget it's a "wagon"... :D

P5 = minivan
ES all the way.
You should have really started a poll.

I feel that the trunks in the protge are plenty big. I have necer had a problem with the space or really filled it up.
After you get a sedan you can throw in a strut tower bar. Its not like there expensive.

it's a hatchback! .. and it handles better:D

I have an ES but I wish I had a P5

The normal protges come with a nicer sound system 6x9's in back instead of only little 6.5" ones in the doors.

The look of a p5 is nicer in front but the back of the protge is always nicer then a hatchback. Especially when you throw on a tastefull spoiler or gigantic ricer wing what ever you want.

P5 is way more unique. Especially with mods.

P5

Tony grab the p5 and go to browns mazda on rt. 1 in alexandria and see noelene hughes. She hooked me on a great price for my p5 and they have good customer service as well.

Haha, how come everyone is saying the P5 handles better?
