P5 Alarm Help

I need to know if my factory alarm is acting goofy......

Using the remote to lock the doors, obviously arms the alarm. Using the KEY in the drivers side door unlocks and disarms the alarm.

BUT, using the KEY on the PAASENGER side door unlocks the car, but doesn't disarm the alarm! So the damn thing is going off, so i put the key in the ignition and turn to on to diable, still didn't turn the blaring alarm off. I had to go back to the drivers side, lock it with the key and unlock it with the key to turn the damn thing off.

What's up with that!

You could have jsut pushed the unlock button to shut it up...

my first question is why you are using the KEY to unlock the door in the first place....why aren't you using the fob ???? if you DON'T want the alarm to go off when you use your key to unlock it....lock the doors with the button on the door on the INSIDE of your car before you close the doors...then your car will be locked but the alarm will be off so you can open the passanger side door with the key and the alarm won't go off.

but to directly answer your question....your alarm is acting normal.

I usually have my reks one me (which has my sapre MP5 key on it). I left my wallet in the car, so I just wentt o the passenger door, unlocked it with my spare, and that's when the alarm went off.

It's odd, cuz i tried the lock/unlock button on the door to shut the damn thing up, and it just kept going, so that's when I tried the ignition, no luck, the tried lock and unlock in the driver door with my spare key, no luck. Wife ran the remote out, which worked.

My factory alarm is the same way. Yours is all normal.
