Like stated the only drawback is that it is a little underpowered. But in the latest edition of c&d it is rated higher then the corolla and with the honda I beleive. I have had mine for 4 monthes and still like to stare at it blankly for hours.I never regretted buying it.

I'll agree the car gets allot of looks, its lacking some serious HP. And there currently doesn't appear to be allot of aftermarket companies with products available for it..hopefully this will change soon.

Maybe it's just me but I feel that my 323F 2.0 Sportive has all the power I need.
Maybe it also helps the fact that here in Europe we pay higher prices for fuel, we have tolls in the highways, etc so the cars are smaller and less powerful (note that the HP to weight ratio doesn't makes this necessarily a bad thing). Our Mazda is a little fine car that handles like a dream and has enough power if you know how to "ask" for it. Here in Europe we're used to manual shifting, it's an integral part of driving, so it's just fine for me to own a car that needs work on the gears to be fast: cornering, of course, that's what racing is all about:) |
Okay, stop complaining people. My Protege is just fine when it comes to power. I came from an '89 Tempest, a '91 Cavalier and a '88 Rx-7 non turbo, and this car's just fine when it comes to power.
Seems like some of you descended from an F-50 or Supras. The car's got enough power for everyday driving. :bounce: |

I love mine! Not one regret even though my last car was more luxurious, faster, bigger and more expensive (99 Passat).
It is great looking, handles BETTER then the Passat ever did and has plenty of power for me. It's a great around-town car yet still manages to fly right along on the highway.
