Oil and Goods

I'm Just wondering if any of u guys use LUCAS OIL STABALIZER? I have Mobile 1 fully synthetic in my engine right now, and wondering if u guys reccommend me putting that in with my oil?

I wouldn't....lucas is a very thick oil additive designed to help oil viscosity....this can cause clumping inside the motor.

I recommend Royal Purple sythetic 5-30...fully synthetic, no oil-oil. Works amazingly in my 8200rpm SHO and my MSP.

Careful what you put in your crankcase.

A lot of additives will leave deposits on valves, spark plugs, combustion chamber walls, etc. If these deposits build up enough, they can become hot spots from which pre-ignition can occur. Pre-ignition causes things to melt, and in short, ruins engines. Deposits can also cause spark plug troubles, such as misfire from fouling. Other additives (as Matty notes) can cause sludging problems in engines, which can lead to oil starvation and siezing in extreme cases. You are better sticking to synthetics, if you want something better than typical motor oil.

Whatever you do, don't put in anything like Slick50 or Duralube. These products contain teflon, which is a solid. Solids can lead to oil sludging and deposits in a hurry. Don't use certain brands of fuel injector cleaner, either. Bear in mind some fuel additives (such as octane booster) can contain trace amounts of base metals, which can cause other kinds of problems such as misfire.

Frankly, I wouldn't add anything to the engine except for oil, coolant, and gasoline. Leave the other stuff for the suckers out there.

AGREED...oil in, oil out...thats it...
now if I were to store the motor for a long time a stabilizer wouldn't be a bad idea...
