Oil change + lub question and brakes
Hello,
Please don’t kill me for asking this. I have a 01 Mazda Protégé LX. I have been changing my own oil for the last 20,000 miles and have not paid attention to lubricating any parts, like on my old Ford Taurus I had to lub some bearings and joints. I asked a few friends of my and most say that new cars do not have any parts that need lubricate applied to then. Is this true? if not, what parts do I need to lub or is it obvious and I just need to look around when I am under my car instead of just focusing on the drain plug and oil filter? Also, let me add on a brake question. I search and found great info for the front rotors, but am woundering if anyone replaced the rear drums with rotors and how they did it and what they used. -Thanks Bob |

although there is nothing to lube in terms of adding grease
through a zerk fitting. You should hit the hinges and moving parts with a little lithium grease on occasion. if you have a sun roof make sure todo the sliders too. don't forget to check the air filter too. |
