Newbie

Hello everybody. I am new to the board. I have a 2001 protege lx2.0. I have to say this is a great board. My former car was a 94 prelude vtec and most of the honda boards were really immature compared to this board. Though I really miss the prelude ( I was running high 14's in it) I love my new Pro. I have a couple newbie questions for you guys. The 2.0 engines in the P5/MP3/ES/LX are all basically the same, right? So, say, mods for the P5 will be the same for the ES and vice versa? Does anybody know anything about the jdm fsze intake manifold? Is it a straight bolt in and will it provide any gains?

hey whats up? i have no answer for your question but i am too a newbie. I just picked up my silver MP5 last night with sunroof, side air bags, automatic, and cd w/tape deck thing. Thats about it. Even though the car is underpowered it handles like a beamer(i know that sounds like a stretch but i honestly think they are comparable, i often drive my friends 2001 330ci and man is that car sweet.). Of cource the 330ci is much faster and quicker but when speaking of like pure handling, i think its comparable although the beamer would still win. Yea so anyways i love driving my car around and i cant get enough. I only got 100 miles on it and im trying to figure out how to break the engine in, for about the first 75 miles i tried to stay under like 4rpm's but now im pushing it close to 5rpm's. also, the first like 70 miles were all highway miles cuz i took a little trip, heh. Yea so i have a lot of plans for the car, anyone know of any quick and easy mods such a cosmetic or performance? thanks, peace...

The engines are basically the same. You would probably get a bigger boost from the FS-ZE intake cam than the manifold. It's a better mod for the money. The intake cam and headers appear to be the largest single gains from bolt ons for the FSD engine.
