Nervous steering

My P5 has just over 30k miles on it. The steering is getting more and more sensitive to road ridges and bumps. The whole car will pull from side to side when the road is uneven. I have to hold the steering wheel more tightly. I can describe the steering as being more nervous than before. This is something that didn't happen. Is this normal wear and tear? Or is it because of my tires (Kumho replaces stock)? Or the steering is taking its toll by the constant pounding of the shitty SF Bay Area roads?

What could be the problem? I took it to a shop and they said no problem? So what now?

Thanks!

I had the same problem and it turned out the alignment was off. When you said you took it to the shop, was it to get the alignment checked? If they did did they actually put it on the alignment machine? If so they would have charged you.

I'm not sure if the shop actually checked the alignment or just drove my car around. I described the symtoms to them and they told me they found nothing. I am gonna make sure the aligment is right. Thanks!:)

It's definitely your alignment. As the roads continue to work your suspension, the geometry shifts slightly. I don't know how the Protoge5 is set up, but what's happeneing is that your geometry is shifting towards bump-steering. If your car also likes to start wandering, your toe may start changing.
