No shit, i think ur garage is bigger than my house:( . Btw there is nothing more annoying than rubbing a rim on a curve. I rubbed one going through a drivethrough ( i know i suck) and couldnt stand the look of it and got it replaced the next day.

I feel no sympathy for you. :O I washed my car just to take stupid pictures yesterday, and in the five minutes from the car wash to my house.. it was dirty again! And Wil... if you think $480 every 6 months is bad... try paying my $1200 every 6 months. Ass. I wish someone gave me a nice car. The car that was given to me when I was 16, was a 1986 Pontiac shitmobile aka the 6000.

Sorry not much sympathy here either... when I was 16 I was driving a hand me down 82 Mercury Lynx with 70 sacked out hp and a 4 on the floor. I only had to sit outside in the car for 10 minutes with my foot on the gas when it was -30 to keep it running.

PS - your dad must *the* most popular sports car in Calgary. When I lived there I would, on average, see about 2 yellow C5 vert a day.

Shit! Hey guys, all I ever wanted were some friends! :tear: :crying: ;) Seriously though, I am paying for the car, just in smaller installments than my Dad is making... I'll be working ALL summer for the rest of my life to pay this baby off! I admit, my folks are very well-off, but my Mom and Dad both worked their asses off their whole life, and yet I hear it's a crime to reap success? Ok, so let me know when I buy something that I comitted a crime...

By the way, I DO have a gorgeous girlfriend... :D

Yo, the people on this board need to chill. You guys don't know much about this kid. Just cuz his parents are well off doesn't mean he's spoiled or anything. My parents are going to buy me a car this summer. What does that teach me? It teaches me that everything you get in life you get through hard work. The only reason my parents are getting me a car is because I was always a good son, and I pulled the grades in highschool to get me a free ride to college. I'm going to do the same thing that my parents did with me to my kids. If you earn your way through college with your grades then you earn a car?

Zero, we were just razzin him...and even told him so....in your case....believe me...if ANY of my kids do so well in school that they earned a free ride in college...I would buy them a car in a HEARTBEAT!!.....that would be a reward for VERY hard work....and yes...its obvious that you did learn what hard work can get you. Congrats, and your parents are lucky.....all to often and more like the norm these days...kids don't take that attitude. :bt:

Don't worry guys. I didn't take any of it personal. :) As for looking after my car? Please! Having a Vette in the household, you learn what REALLY appreciating a car is about. I LOVE my P5. I'm weary about who I bring with me so as to keep the carpets clean, and nearly every weekend I wash, wax with 3 coats of Zaino, and detail the interior. Some say it's overkill, but I actually get enjoyment out of it! I like getting to know "My baby" (Don't tell my girlfriend I said that! ;) ) and cleaning her is the best way. I read the shop manual daily, and I gave her the easiest break-in. I drive her gently, unless someone's ready to challenge. I NEVER rev the engine when it's cold, I change the oil with Mobil 1 more frequently than is nessicary... I could go on for ages, but I think I got my point across.

Hey, I just wanted to add into the discussion because I'm 16 too with a brand new P5. But you can't say I'm spoiled because even though I did get some money as a gift to help pay for the car I worked three jobs over the summer to pay for the rest. And I definately feel a sense of responsibility. For instance one night I scratched my rim a little from a curb and I was bummed out for a few days. And all of the maintenance of the car is on me, as it should be because the car is mine. As for obsessive cleaning of your car, I can understand that because I clean the inside of my car as soon as it needs it and wash the outside when weather permits. (And I don't allow eating or drinking in my car.)
