MSP stock tires WTF.....

I would love some feed back from anyone who has a 2003.5 MSP (not sure if they had them on the 2003) with/or has had the stock tires that come on the car. They are Bridgestone Protenza I think R215/45 RZ 17. These things are good for grip ( of course Z rated duh) and that is not my complaint but hell I have 15,200 miles on my car and I am needing to replace them already I mean WTF. I know a Z rated tire wears out quicker but that quick. I was actually going to try and get non Z rated tire but the guy said it would be very difficult (if possible) to do so. Which ok so he quoted me on the new Fusion tires and they would run me about $442.00 (thats w/ lifetime balance and rotation). Does anyone own any of these or heard about them. Does anyone know a better suggestion for a tire that is in the same price range some advice would be great.....

are you spinning alot?

since these tires are not that cheap, i am going to avoid rotating them. replace the fronts when they wear out, the rears will last forever that way. as long as you keep them balanced and at the proper air pressure, they shouldn't cup. once the fronts wear out, 235/40/17 nitto555s are going up front.

No that is what I am talking about I hardly ever spin the tires and have just recently started doing the drag racing in which I just barely spin the tires just to warm them up for better traction. I do take care of everything on my car including the tires. I admit id enjoy driving it hard through turns but I really do not thing enough to kill the tires so quickly. None the less baby will soon have a new pair of shoes LOL......

i am a huge fan of Nitto 555s. i had a set on my SVT contour, my father's heads/cams 1998 cobra has a set (295/35) and his are doing quite well. my mustang has 555 drag radials, and the streetability is amazing. tire wear is very consistent and they are lasting!

my potenza MSP tires have 40% tread on them, my car has 16,200 miles...

i have a yellow msp 2003.5 now going on 31,000 miles on the stock tires.i have rotated them every other oil change and they are all 4 cupped and raise hell with road noise.only have about 4/32 left so ill need to buy at least 2 soon before snow.my main problem with them are that they are directional and i cant X them to get rid or the cupping.my next set will definatly not be directionals.they are very soft tread so just the small amount of burning them to heat them is why yours are junk so fast.i would drive around the burn out box.you have a limited slip so it should hook fairly well anyway.i would rather it slip some on my 50ft time than risk trans/axle damage.

I have 2003.5 Titanium MSP with stock Protenzas at 31,000 miles also. I rotated them every 8,000 miles. At the 24,000 mi swap, I discovered rears were scalloped indicating wheel mis-alignment, which I should have picked up on since my gas mileage was suffering and I could hear a sort of rumbling from the rear at highway speeds. I still have enough tread to go another 10-15,000, but I'll save them for next spring. I just bought a winter snow tire & wheel package to make it through this coming winter. This winter package includes Blizzark WS-50 on Konig 17x7 'Trouble' wheels.
