modified 2003.5 msp axel-back for p5

I know that the tip has to be chopped to fit the p5 correctly, but how much exactly needs to be cut to look right? I Also wanted to know if the hangers are correctly placed to hang right under the cut-out on the p5 bumper, or do you have to modify that also? Any benefit of replacing the whole exhaust system (cat-back) from a Msp, or to much trouble for notta?
I'm thinking of buying a used 2003.5 Msp axel-back used for about 3000 miles for $90!
This would be my first real mod to otherwise stock p5, well except for that stock intake mod...but I did'nt have to spend any cash for that! I know I won't be getting much other than a little deeper sound and a little bling-bling but I don't see spending three times this much or more for 4-5 whp. The p5 was built for curves not the straight-aways!
By the way, who has already done this and how do you like the sound compared to the stock muffler?

I don't think it's worth it...
even if you modify it, the total costs with used axel back will be around $120~or more...from muffler shop.
just save little more money and get sport exhaust for protege5.
I can tell you where to get them for around $175 +shipping

Man, it depends on what you want. I got a custom exhuast done for like $200. I ran 2 inch pipe all the way back from the 1st cat. So, I do not have the second cat, it sits in my trunk. The car seems to breath easier, sounds really cool too. If you have the money go with the greddy exhaust and upgrade to larger pipe, 2 inches like me. That and a cold air intake were my first upgrades and I notice just a little more power, not much. So, mostly looks and sound.

Thanks for your responces, but as far as the msp sport exhaust is conerned, I've heard that they have a terrible drone @ highway speeds which I prefer not to have.
The cat-back custom work would run me $250-300 which is way over what I want to spend.
Does anybody have an msp (Racing Beat not Bosal) on thier car?
You likey??

I bought the 03.5 MSP exhaust and had it modified. Have the entire section removed between the muffler and the tip, and remove the supporting bracket. A good welding shop should be able to square the tip up for you and make a clean weld on to the muffler.

Cost was a $100 for the exhaust and $30 for the welding. It installs and hangs just like the original cheap muffler. Use the stock hangers; the kartboy hangars may pull it too close to the rear skirt and cause clearance problems.

Here is a link with a picture of it on my car.

I love how it sounds and how it looks on the car. Between 3 - 4K RPM its real throaty when punching it, but quiets down as soon as you back off the throttle. I think it seems to be a bit quieter than the "mazdaspeed" muffler sold at the dealer for the P5 overall.

sport exhaust had loud and deep tone 3~6rpm.
how much are you willing to spend?

Well Bijou-mp5, I really don't want to spend to much...no more than $125...I just want the car to sound like it should, ya know?
This is a "sport-wagon" although not a very fast one, but a little vroom-vroom does'nt hurt. I just don't a loud intrusive drone which would drive me slowly insane, but more of a "sporty" tone to accent the car and not to overshadow it.

As I said in my first thread, I have already found an exhuast for $90, just wanted to know if other mp5 owners like the sound of the msp muffler compared to the stock one....or not to bother with switching them out....
