Mazdaspeed Protege in Sport Compact Car, October 2002 issue

Just recieved it yesturday. The review/article is about 10 pages long (not full pages, damn magazine has a shitload of ads! :D).

I didnt get a chance to read it all, but it looks like a positive. Like most people know already, they do say that it will be available in mid-September, with a less then 2000 run.

I have to say, Sport Compact Car is a Ricers dream magazine. In the ads in the back of the mag, there is a device you can buy that makes the "turbo sound" at a preset RPM range...LOL
" Sunami Turbo Noise Simulator...
After setting a trigger RPM level through an adjustable RPM knob, every time you reach the set RPM, the SUNAMI will simulate the "pssssst" noise of a turbo. An additional override button also allows you to trigger the SUNAMI at any RPM. Equipped with a four wire EZ INSTALLATION guide!"

To top it off, the companys website is www.sunamiturbo.com, if you click on it, it says "Coming Soon". I guess they are waiting for the product to sell like hotcakes... :D

Sport Compact Car are one of the better mags out there. Some of their ads are questionable but most of their articles are on target. Although the new editor is kinda ricey. It's still the best out there. Ever read Import Tuner or Super Street?

Did any of you see what they dyno at on the MS-P....? 151hp at the wheels @ 5500 rpm and 151 lb ft @ 3800 rpm. Very nice and very little drivetrain loss. According to SCC, the now give the MS-P to title of being the bench mark for what a factory performance car should come with. They even went as far as saying that the MS-P would be quicker than an ITR up their favorite mountain roads. Horray for Mazda....
