mazda suspension on any model
 

will the mazdaspeed suspension swap onto a base model car without doing any mods to the car.

suspension swap between a mazdaspeed protege and 01-03 protege will be a direct bolt-on with the correct hardware swap (e.g. bushings, brackets, etc). without all the correct hardware, some fabrication may be needed.

with the swaybar comes revised crossmember and sway bar bushings. you will need the upgraded mazdaspeed shocks for the stronger mounts for the endlinks. the mazdaspeed had retuned springs with a higher spring rate that work with the shocks. the mazdaspeed also came with a front strut tower bar. this is the same bar found in the protege5 and mp3, but in silver color.

shorter bump stops are available from dealer or racing beat or you can trim your existing bump stops. it has also been recommended to upgrade to protege5 rear upper strut mounts because they are stiffer than the sedan.
