A Little Knock
Hi everyone. I a proud owner of a 2002 used auto MP5 and I just started hearing a possible problem.
This is the problem.... every time I press the brake (the car is decelerating right before the complete stop) I hear a click or a knock. Even when I start to accelerate or hit a nice bump, sometimes even turning I hear a small knock from the front mid-left section. I even feel the knock threw my pedals. I'm not sure if this is something with the steering link or suspension or mounts. Has anyone experienced this problem? Can anyone diagnose the problem? |
do you have any aftermarket parts on your car???
if not , just take it to the dealer, brake is covered under warranty(except pads...) |
My car is not under warrenty anymore. It almost 39,000 miles on it and I brought it used.
this little problem is getting me upset. |
Warranty is 50,000 miles. Dosen't matter where you bought it.

Originally posted by Rusty Warranty is 50,000 miles. Dosen't matter where you bought it. I didn't buy it from a mazda dealer, I brought it from a Nissian dealer, does this matter? What about if its not the mounts? Does the suspension or the steering parts in the front have a warrenty? W/B |
It's pretty much all under warranty except for blown clutches and things like that. CV joint may not be covered if the boot is torn.
There is a tear-out card in your warranty manual that you should use to notify Mazda of change of ownership. I bought mine from a Dodge dealer with 34k on it in September. Looks like new though. |
I had the same problem, on mine turn out to be a dampner on the front motor mount (2003 model).
