Leather seat option. Is it worth it?

This winter I will be purchasing a White P5 with the Sport-Matic transmission and was considering the leather interior. Is it a cheap leather or a very good quality leather? Hard to believe for only $490 you get a leather interior.

If you like the way it looks, feels, and you have the extra cash then its worth it. I'm sure its of decent quality as far as ruggedness is concerned. Its probably not Mercedes supple, but for just shy of $500 is a good deal. Mazda usually has high quality interior components.

I was just concerned that the leather might split easy.

hmm

mine's leather, and it's absolutely worth it.. the steering wheel is in leather, the doors (armrest) are leather.. and the armrest center console is leather plus the seats.. it's well worth it.. (unless u have kids) hehe like me i should've gotten nylon but leather's great :)

Being in a sporty compact type car its probably on the firm side of the leather spectrum and very resistant to cracking. It has to keep up with the image of beach trips, late nights with drunk friends, loads of crap stacked on it etc...Like those cheesy brochures and ads depict. Take care of it and it should last for many years. Just as long if not longer than cloth.

If it was available when I got my car, I would have leather.

  I do have a 5 year old son, would have been great to have leather seats in my Sentra when he was a baby.
