Jealous ones still envy . . .

Man i just stepped outside and to my dismay some hood rat rammed a shopping cart into my Left taillight and totally smashed it and dinged the hatch and chipped a little paint. . . Man i am so pissed. . . Gonna go to dealer tommorrow and get replacement and some touch up paint. . . Dont think warranty will cover this; anyone know how much it will set me back. . . Man this is not fair i wish i could have caught that fool:mad: Next mod is definitely an alarm and a 45. It still would have happened i know; but at least i could have been alerted and had a running start on that asshole.

redwagon02 December-11th-2001 09:57 PM

Damn, Sucks to be you. Thats why I park far and away from other people. Dents and dings are my pet peeve. Not sure how much the tail light costs but I know it'll set you back quite a few.

orangealpha December-11th-2001 10:03 PM

Man it was in front of my house thats what really sucks lol. At least all the bulbs still work. . . Still doesnt make me feel better. I WANT SOME REVENGE

redwagon02 December-11th-2001 10:16 PM

I know what you mean about wanting to get revenge. It's like when someone stole my wifes car two weeks after spending $2500 on some rims for the car ('94 Civic EX). Then it happened again a couple of years later ('95 MIata). Now, no rims for the cars. Revenge would be sweet. O'well. Anyway maybe use a video camera aimed at your car to try and find that jack*ss.

kenji4861 December-11th-2001 10:31 PM

Man, that totally sucks. Especially if you are making payments for the car. If that happened to me, I would be crying and soo pissed. Well.. I don't know about crying, but I would be REALLLY REALLY pissed.

200.00!!!!

Just went to the dealer and asked if i could get replacement taillight. It was $200.00 ($194.14):( .. . . Looks real easy to install and even comes with the bulbs in already. Take care of those taillights. . . And if someone even looks at my P5 funny i am bashin that hood rats brains in.

Update: I also went down to the grocery store (Raleys) and talked to the manager he was real cool about it. Now comes the fun part; tryin to get money out of their insurance company. Hey someone is going to pay for this besides me. . .:the finge

Ouch! Sorry to hear about that. Hey orangealpha, might want to "take advantage" of this accident to get yourself some Altezza tail lights (if they're available) :) . They're probably like $200+ USD a pair.

Dang man, looks like someone took a shotgun to your taillight...Did you see the person do it? They would be paying for it 100%.

I NEVER park my car within 20 spaces of anyone else ;)

Kincaid December-19th-2001 10:37 PM

Ouch indeed. That is nasty. Oh and I linked the pic for ya.

Yep, im afraid someone may get jealous and key my car. That happen to one of my friends. Park it as far away as possible... Hey! its good exercise :bt:

JJB December-20th-2001 06:43 AM

man... that sure must have been one good hit if it was a shopping cart... did someone see it happen? I would have guessed a foot was involved (kinda like what happened to my car door in college... never park in the lot near the party houses :squint: ).

mnkyboy December-20th-2001 07:14 AM

I dont see pics

??

The Old Guy December-20th-2001 09:57 AM

 That looks like it was hit by a SUV or a PU. The damage is too much for a shopping cart, specially the dent in the lift gate. OUCH!!!:squint:

orangealpha December-21st-2001 02:35 AM

Insurance is gonna hook me up (kinda)

I talked to the insurance company for the grocery store and they said they would pay whatever is lower my collision deductible($500) or the estimate. My estimate came to about $800.00 and they used an MP3 for the parts and labor (it was the closest their database came). I put my taillight on so that knocks off 150-200 the guy who did the estimate said their was a "scuff" on my bumper but i dont see jack:dunno: on my bumper. Ill just tell the body shop not to worry bout the bumper so that will knock off from 200-300. So i should be alright:cool:

And it was a cart that hit it; if you look closely enuff in pic u can see the carts reflection. And as far as parking far away that is just a rule of thumb i always follow especially with a new car. But this happened in front of my house. And the reason it looks so bad is i think someone had a running start with that cart . Needless to say my baby is spending a lot more time in the garage and alarm is at the top of my list for christmas;) Oh and thanks for the concern:bounce:

I don't see the picture. My general rule of thumb; park away from the front door; park on high ground (carts cannot roll up hill); park near newer cars. This should drastically reduce dings and scatches. But then again, maybe life isn't sweet after all. :(
